The children and educators at Teach-A-Tot are excited to welcome our new pet fish. Fish was given the name “Fish” by the children themselves. Fish and her two snail buddies have settled in well to their new home. Children will be involved in helping to care for Fish by feeding her and topping up her water. (EYLF 2.4)

Warami!
We at Teach-A-Tot thank the Darug People, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn, and pay our respects to their Elders, both past, present and future.
This week children at Teach-A-Tot engaged in a number of experiences in recognition of National Reconciliation Week, celebrating the cultures and traditions of Australia’s First People.
The children:
– Made music with clapsticks.
– Recreated the Aboriginal flag with peg boards.
– Used leaves and sticks to create art with an ochre palette.
– Dressed up in our beautiful new Aboriginal art capes.
– Enjoyed a variety of Dreaming Stories.
– Painted Warnayarra the Rainbow Snake.
– Used natural coloured playdough to create Australian Animals.
– Engaged in dramatic play with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dolls.
– Learned about humpies and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of living.
